TMB turns 7

We'd love to see all our members on February 26 to celebrate TMB's 7th anniversary.

We'll serve cake and coffee after the regular service to show our thankfulness to God and to you, the people who call TMB your church home.

We also welcome guests and would love to meet you/see you again.

Our children's programs will resume on Sunday, February 5, which means it's time for parents to complete a new ChildSafe Medical and Personal Information Form.

Please click on the links below if you have children in Kids' Church, Creche, GiG or Youth Group at TMB. You can complete the forms on your computer or by hand, and bring them with you on the first day of the program. Hard copies are also available on the Kids' Church desk on Sunday.

Please contact the office if you have any queries.

SOAP Readings

Christian people routinely find that the best thing they can do for their own spiritual growth is to read the Bible regularly. And we shouldn't be surprised! We believe the Bible is God's Word and that it's through the Bible that he promises to speak to us today.

At TMB we're using a simple pattern of reading the Bible for ourselves 5 days a week, with the help of the acronym SOAP.

S. Scripture.  Simply read the passage!  You can see the current SOAP readings to the right, or on the left column on any page on this website.  If you're on Facebook, follow the TMB page to see the weekly readings in your newsfeed.

O.  Observation.  What do you observe in the passage?
What stands out?
What surprises you?
What makes a lot of sense?
What doesn’t seem to make much sense at all?
Some people like to journal, that is, to write down their questions and observations.  SOAP journalling pages are available on the Welcome Desk on Sundays for you to collect if you think you'd find them helpful.

SOAP Daily Readings

A. Application.  How do we put God’s Word into practice? Growing to maturity as disciples of Jesus and learning the lessons God would teach us through his Word requires more than simply hearing.  In the New Testament, James urges us, to not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says (James 1:22).
Some questions to ask might be: What does this mean for my life among my family, colleagues, friends, in my classroom?
How can I put into practice the lesson of this passage in the particularities of my situation?

P. Pray.  Pray and ask God to help you apply his Word to your life.
Pray and ask God to help you understand what you’ve just read.
Pray and ask God to give you a hunger and thirst for his him, his kingdom, and his Word.

SOAP. It’s simple.
It’s not a special technique, but across TMB numbers of us are going to spend a few minutes, five days a week, reading and reflecting on the same part of God's Word, and we'd love you to be involved too.  You might already have a pattern for reading the Bible regularly. You are, of course, most welcome to continue that, or even add the SOAP readings into your regular pattern, as they will generally be quite short passages.

Please let us know how you find SOAP! We'd love to hear and share with others, how you're being encouraged and taught through reading God's Word.

Family Advent Readings & Activities

We've printed a new booklet to help you prepare for Christmas. You can follow the plan by yourself or involve your whole family. This booklet, Genesis to Jesus, has been prepared by Wendy Lin, and gives you daily Bible readings, prayers, points to consider and optional activities that aim to help you see God's unfolding plan of salvation throughout Advent.

You can download the 2016 Family Advent Readings and Activities booklet here or collect one from the TMB Office, or from the Welcome Desk at our services on Sundays.
